Screen printing

Screen printing is the process of printing an image onto a garment by applying inks which are passed through a fine screen mesh. Each individual colour, using a separate screen is applied to the garment in turn...until all the colours have been applied making up the complete design. The inks are then heat or air cured to make them permanent.

Screen printing is a very versatile method of decorating a garment. You can easily create intricate, long lasting designs with strong, vibrant colours.

Our in-house screen printing facility has been providing a professional screen print service for over 15 years and has grown steadily with increased capabilities and capacity. Our work has ranged from printing 50 t-shirts for a local college to printing 10,000 pieces of knitwear for BHS and Top Man, from 5,000 promotional t-shirts for the recording artist ‘Snoop Dogg’ to 100,000 t-shirt for the European Tourist Board.

The cost of screen printing is based on the number of colours within a design.

The number of colours:
If your design has two colours and is to be printed onto white t-shirts, it will be a two colour print and we will require two screens.
If your two colour design is to be printed on to dark t-shirt...it will be a three colour print and we will require three screens.
When printing onto dark coloured t-shirts it is necessary to create an ‘under-lay’ - a fine, white coloured print which acts as a base for the main colours to ‘sit’ on

The charges are made up of the following elements:

The Print screens or set-up
This is a ‘one-off’ set up charge and is the cost of creating the screens for each colour that makes up your design.

The individual print charge
This is the price to print your design onto each garment. In general...the greater the quantity of garments the lower the price.

Our print prices are among the most competitive in the industry and we are working towards publishing a print price matrix...in the meantime; if you need specific prices or any more information please give us a call or email your details as we would be happy discuss things further.
